A 44-year-old woman was issued with a court attendance notice after colliding with an electricity pole and a residential fence on Violet Street, between Gibbons Street and Selina Street, at 3.45am on Wednesday, June 29.

Police allege the woman was driving in a northerly direction and veered across the street before mounting the vehicle on a footpath.

The woman is alleged to have continued driving on the footpath, colliding with an electricity pole.

She continued driving on the footpath until colliding with a fence.

The woman, who was holding a P-plate licence, was arrested and conveyed to Narrabri Police Station for breath analysis.

She returned a reading of 0.042, breaching the blood alcohol requirement for P-plate drivers.

The woman is also alleged to have returned a positive drug testing result.

Her licence was suspended and she was issued with a court attendance notice for negligent driving as well as driving with a special range PCA.

Police are awaiting further analysis of the drug test.

Attempt to steal motor vehicle

Bail was refused for a 42-year-old man who attempted to steal a vehicle while a child was inside.

The vehicle was parked near a CBD premises when the incident occurred at 7.30am on Sunday, June 26.

The victim, who was nearby, approached the man in the vehicle.

The man fled the scene, however, was located by police. He was alleged to have been in possession of a claw hammer at the time.

The man was arrested at Tibbereena Street.

He was charged with take or drive without consent. Bail was refused and the man will appear in Narrabri Local Court on August 23.

Disqualified driver stopped

A 25-year-old man was stopped by a police patrol on Dangar Street for the purposes of a breath test at 11.30pm on Friday, June 24.

After stopping the man, police discovered he was disqualified from driving for two years as of March 2022.

He was charged with drive while disqualified (second offence).

Teenager charged for grandstand graffiti

A teenage boy has been charged in relation to graffiti at the Number One Oval (Collins Park).

The boy is alleged to have used a marker to graffiti the grandstand with hate words on Friday, June 24 at 11am.

Police were able to charge the boy after reviewing CCTV footage.

In the footage, the boy was observed with another female writing graffiti at the site.

He has been charged with intent aggravated mark premises without consent.

A 21-year-old woman was charged with the same offence in relation to the incident.

Unlicensed, unregistered motorcycle rider charged

A 33-year-old man, who was riding a motorcycle, was charged with two offences after failing to stop at the Gibbons Street and Violet Street intersection at 5.10pm on June 12.

The rider was found to be unlicensed and the motorbike was unregistered.

He was issued with a field court attendance notice for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified (second offence) and use an unregistered motor vehicle.

Supervising passenger returns positive breath analysis

A 58-year-old man, who was supervising a learner driver, was found to have been under the influence of alcohol.

Police stopped the vehicle on Barwan Street at 8.03am on June 11.

Both the learner driver and supervising passenger were subject to a roadside breath test.

The passenger returned a result of 0.064.

He was charged with low range PCA, sit next to learner driver.

Additional charges following Wee Waa incident

A man and woman have received additional charges in relation to recent property and fraud-related offences.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation in early June into recent break and enters and fraudulent transactions in Wee Waa.

At about 1.50 pm on Thursday, June 2, officers attended a home in Rose Street, arresting a man and woman.

Both were taken to Wee Waa Police Station.

The 21-year-old man was charged with five counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, larceny, break and enter house steal value and assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm.

At the time, he was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Friday, June 3.

The man is now facing an additional four charges of goods suspected of being stolen.

A 22-year-old woman was charged with five counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, larceny and break and enter house steal value.

She was granted conditional bail and appeared at Wee Waa Local Court on Thursday, June 30.

The woman has also been charged with four counts of goods suspected of being stolen.
