Renowned Sydney identity Claudia Chan Shaw wowed the crowd at ADFAS’ latest arts lecture on Monday, August 15, at The Crossing Theatre.
With stunning visuals presented on the cinema screen, Claudia entertained members and visitors with a historical and often amusing presentation – ‘Well Heeled – Shoes Through Time’.
The Sydney-born creative has a diverse career spanning art and couture-design, photography, curating, and television and radio presenting.
Claudia was co-host and presenter on ABC TV’s long-running popular program, ‘Collectors’, where her penchant for tin robots, wind-up toys and popular culture was revealed.
She has an upcoming production due to hit our screens in late September, titled ‘Antiques Down Under’, it is a new eight-part television series taking Australia’s rare treasures, curious collectables, unique history, and diverse culture to the world.
Hosts Gregory Bickford and Claudia Chan Shaw will travel Australia, visiting antique fairs, cultural museums, galleries and private collections, historic homes, and backyard sheds in search of interesting collections.
They’ll chat with the experts, the custodians, the curators, the collectors, and the enthusiasts: sharing the stories of exceptional objects that have found their way Down Under or been made locally.
