Along the Namoi River, minor flooding is occurring at Manilla, Narrabri and Wee Waa and likely at Gunnedah.
Along the Peel River, minor flooding is occurring at Tamworth, where moderate flooding is likely from Friday evening.
Further rainfall is forecast for the rest of Friday into the weekend, which may cause renewed river rises. This situation is being closely monitored and the revised predictions will be provided if required.
Peel River:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Peel River at Tamworth
The Peel River at Tamworth has exceeded the minor flood level (3.00 metres) Friday afternoon. The Peel River at Tamworth is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (4.20 m) Friday evening. The river level may reach around 5.20 metres overnight Friday into Saturday, with forecast rainfall.
Namoi River:
Major flooding may occur along the Namoi River at Gunnedah and Wee Waa. Moderate flooding may occur at Narrabri, with minor flooding expected at Boggabri. Moderate flooding is continuing at Bugilbone and Goangra. Minor flooding is occurring at Tamworth, Manilla, Narrabri and Wee Waa.
The Namoi River at Manilla exceeded the minor flood level (6.10 metres) Friday afternoon. The Namoi River at Manilla may reach around 8.00 metres overnight Friday into Saturday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.
The Namoi River at Gunnedah is likely to exceed the minor flood level (7.30 metres) Friday evening. The river level may reach the major flood level (7.90 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further rises are possible.
The Namoi River at Boggabri is expected to exceed the minor flood level (7.00 metres) early Friday evening. The river level may reach around 8.50 metres during Sunday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.
Narrabri Creek at Narrabri has exceeded the minor flood level (4.90 metres) Friday morning. The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri is likely to reach the moderate flood level (6.40 metres) overnight Sunday into Monday.
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) has exceeded the minor flood level (5.30 metres) Friday morning. The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) may exceed the major flood level (6.70 metres) overnight Friday into Saturday. The river level may reach around 7.10 metres during Sunday. Further rises are possible.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone peaked at 6.00 metres around 11:15 am Monday 17 October and is currently at 5.90 metres and steady, with moderate flooding. Further rises possible with renewed flooding upstream.
The Namoi River at Goangra is likely to peak near 7.20 metres during Sunday, with moderate flooding. Further rises possible with renewed flooding upstream.
