The NRMA Insurance Bell 212 helicopter based at Narrabi has been busy with flights to and from the west. The chopper has been making four or five flights a day to the western centres with the mail and medical supplies.
Flooded roads kept John Strickland from getting home to Croppa Creek so he volunteered his time to helping out with flood work at the airport.
NRMA Insurance deploys its helicopter in partnership with the NSW SES to help flood affected communities in NSW. The helicopter has been transporting SES personnel and essential supplies to isolated communities and providing critical flood intelligence across affected areas, now including Narrabri district.
NRMA Insurance helicopter pilot Geoff Sprod said he was honoured to help NSW SES deliver critical support to communities in need.
“Seeing the devastating impact of the floods from the sky is heartbreaking but every bit of help makes a difference,” Mr Sprod said.
