Local drama group Solasta Performing Arts, convened by Narrabri resident Sarah Gleeson, staged a gala event last Sunday, December 4.

Titled ‘Heart of Art’, the morning event showcased talented artists, photographers, and craftsmanship of all genres from the region.

Twenty-one stalls attracted great interest from the community, with a wide range of media in art on display.

Floral crafts, knits and crochets, patchworks, handmade jewellery, photography, handicrafts, cake decorating and face painting were on hand for a steady stream of visitors throughout the morning.

The afternoon session saw performances from Solasta Performing Arts with a line-up of accompanying local acts from the region.

A welcome to country was conducted by Clinton Lamb and his nephew, Rydell Kelly followed by First Nations traditional cultural arts dance and stories.

Harmony Inc led the musical score with Solasta’s performance of ’12 Days of Twistmas’ performed in twelve sections with a cleverly construed comedic twist to each act.

Each act by the drama group was interspersed with song and dance performances by Tammy Holmes, In Motion Dance, Kodey Stanford, Split Lips, Elsie Ford and Harmony Inc.
