The callouses are building and the muscles are burning as the Boggy Ninja, aka, Cruze Morley, put fifteen members of the Boggy Ninja Academy through some tough training this week as they prepare for the national titles in Brisbane next week.
Participants from all states in Australia will meet in Brisbane for three days starting January 20, 2023, to try to win the national title as well as earn a place on the team to participate in the world titles.
The top five in each category in Brisbane will qualify for the 2023 World Series to be held in Orlando, Florida in July and a first place there means that they will be crowned ‘World Champion’.
Cruze said the organisers are expecting 600 competitors and around 2000 spectators in Brisbane.
As a show of confidence and respect for the Boggy Academy, the NSW state president of the Australia Ninja Games, Sabrina Johnstone has appointed five members as ‘captains’ of their state age group.
Parents and family members are super proud of their athletes saying it is a massive show of confidence in both Cruze and the young people he coaches.
As captains and leaders they will support and encourage teammates from all over NSW in their age group/category during the competition.
Other roles and responsibilities include being presented with the State Ninja Shield if they are successful.
Enabling them to go up to the podium to receive the shield and then display it in their gym/other gyms in their state until the next national championships.
The five NSW captains from Boggabri are Josh Rankin boys U13s, Leah Keam girls U13s, Thomas Eather boys U9s, Xander Keeffe boys U7s and Ella Keeffe girls U7s.
