Boggabri’s Business Chamber ‘Show N Shine’ committee has excelled in how to ‘Show N Shine’ everything from trucks, cars, motorbikes, tractors, market stalls, food stalls, community groups, volunteer groups as well as how to have fun in variable weather.

The Boggabri Business Chamber formed its ‘Show N Shine’ committee 12 months ago and worked tirelessly to bring an event to Boggabri that showcased Boggabri, its businesses as well as the talented and enthusiastic community members.

Who would have thought that Mother Nature had so many ways of capturing your attention.

The event was postponed from September when there were massive floods over numerous weeks.

On Saturday there were storms, rain, blackouts, wind and sunshine but the show went on, with president of the chamber Jo Bell saying: “we had very few glitches along the way and we didn’t have any way of gauging how we went as this was a first for us, but I can say that we reached for the stars and in my opinion, we really excelled and exceeded.”

It was hard to gauge how many people passed through the event as people were coming and going from 9am to 1.30pm before the rain chased everyone home.

There were 72 vehicles on show and the committee really appreciated the owners bringing their loved and treasured vehicles out into the rain and mud.

Countless hours were spent cleaning and shining the trucks, cars and bikes.

Some car owners made a last-minute dash to be in Boggabri as Gunnedah and Tamworth had very heavy rain early morning, others made the trip to support the event but left their open vehicles at home.

There were many and varied market and food stalls and old fashioned games for the children.

All comments have been very positive with, “great day”, “well done Boggabri”, “fantastic day”, heard throughout the day.

“On behalf of the Business Chamber I want to thank everyone for attending and making today a fantastic event,” Mrs Bell said.

“I also want to thank the Show n Shine committee who have attended meetings, chased up ideas and participants, all the while keeping the goal of having fun in their sights.

“Thank you also to the community members who have supported this committee over the past 12 months.

“Thank you to all stall holders, exhibitors, attendees, our DJ on the day, the Narrabri Shire and Service NSW for their support,” she said.
