Much-loved Wee Waa couple Frank and Robyn Devoy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January this year.

Unfortunately due to COVID, the family couldn’t celebrate with the couple in January but relatives were all able to come together in Wee Waa on the Easter long weekend.

Family members travelled from Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Bathurst and Melbourne to mark the magnificent milestone.

Frank and Robyn were married on January 19,1963 in Sydney.

Robyn grew up in Pilliga and Frank grew up in Baradine.

They met at the ball in Pilliga when the electricity came to town.

Family told The Courier, Frank talks about falling in love with the woman in ‘the yellow dress’ at the ball.

They moved to Wee Waa and raised three children, Paul, Scott and Donna-Maree.

Over the years, the couple have played an active role in the community, being proud members of the Golf Club, raising money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and Frank helped to build part of Weeronga Aged Care facility (Whiddon) where he now lives.

He was also awarded Lions Senior Citizen of the Year.
