First-placed side Narrabri FC has cruised past Moree Services Club Two in the sides’ round 13 Namoi Soccer League clash played at Hogan Oval on Saturday.
The victory was Narrabri FC’s 10th in a row and it came in a spectacular fashion.
The home side scored four goals inside 18 minutes and finished the first half with a 7-0 advantage.
FC slowed down a touch in the second half but was able to score four more goals to make the final score a whopping 11-0.
In the second game of the double header at Hogan Oval, Crossroads Eleven FC hosted Wee Waa United in a thrilling back and forth contest.
The Elevens were impressive, bouncing back from their 6-0 loss to Moree Two in round 12, but were unable to capitalise on the improved performance.
Wee Waa countered with pace and was clinical in front of goal allowing the visitors to pick up a 2-0 win.
Those results saw Wee Waa jump ahead of Moree Services FC One, which had the round 13 bye, into second place on the ladder, and Narrabri FC establish a four-win lead ahead of those two teams.
Narrabri FC has acquired a maximum 30 points from its 10 matches this season, while Wee Waa and Moree One are both locked on 18 points.
Both teams have scored 23 goals each, but Wee Waa has conceded three goals less than Moree which puts it ahead on goal difference.
Narrabri FC scored its 10th win of the season in convincing fashion on Saturday.
Its opposition only fielded nine players and the home side made the Moree outfit pay.
Narrabri FC opened the scoring three minutes into the match when Toby Sunderland attempted a volleyed chip over the Moree goalkeeper after running onto a through ball from his centre midfield partner Cooper Brayshaw.
The initial shot hit the crossbar but Sunderland followed it in and smashed a header into the back of the net.
