Friday, June 14 saw Bellata Public School host the annual quad sports – an athletics carnival between five local small schools – Bellata, Rowena, Fairfax, Bullarah and Mallawa Public Schools.

All students participated well and competed in 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m running races as well as long jump, high jump, shot put and discus with presentations concluding the day.

The results were as follows – sub junior champion, boy: Tommy Brumell, girl: Mia Williamson, sub junior runner-up, boy: Kayde Aitken; girl: Addison Taylor; junior champion – boy: Lawson Eather; girl: Amelia Lowien; junior runner up – boy: Owen Eather and Fitzroy Harris; girl: Eliza Fox.

11 years champion – boy: Max Eather; girl: Kali Mason; 11 years runner up – boy: Lachie Eather; girl: Charlotte Zell; senior champion – boy: Cooper Madden; girl: Tori Cross; senior runner up – boy: Jock Harris; girl Bethany Cooper.

The overall pointscore for the day is calculated on a handicap system, with the total points for each school being divided by the number of students enrolled.

Based on this system, Fairfax came fifth, Rowena fourth, Bullarah third, Mallawa second and Bellata first place.
