Narrabri Touch’s season two finals series will get underway next week, and if Monday’s men’s matches are anything to go by, an explosive post-season certainly awaits.
There were four games played across the two men’s divisions in round five of the graded comps on Monday, with one of those ending as a draw and the other three being separated by a point.
In the A-grade comp, Win Or Booze and Gee Bangers contested a 5-all draw after Grumley Builders had taken down Lations 5-4, and in the B-grade comp, Ballbusters edged out JWG Livewires 5-4 after Cougars had defeated The Pelicans 6-5.
The ladies’ winners prevailed in far more comfortable fashion. In A-grade, Twisted Blisters downed Specialised Civil 10-2 and Jarfumigation Redbacks outscored Many’s Contractors 6-4, and in B-grade, Touch n Go downed CBRE 7-3 after Hounddogs beat FAFs 10-0.
Next week’s finals series will see all four divisions host a major semi-final between the two top-ranked teams and a minor-semi-final between the teams ranked third and fourth.
In both B-grade competitions, the team that finished fifth on the ladders have now been eliminated.
The winners of Monday’s major semi-finals will go straight through to grand final day at the Dangar Park rugby field on Sunday, December 1. The losers of those semi-finals will get a second chance the following week when they meet the minor semi-final winners in the preliminary finals.
The minor semi-final losers will be eliminated.
