SignPrintStitch hosted a memorable golf day at the Boggabri Golf Club on Saturday that saw more than 90 keen golfers help raise valuable funds for the local club.
The event was a nine-hole four-person ambrose, at which teams had the chance to bid on the five special guests to join their groups.
Those special guests included NRL referee Gerard Sutton and former NRL players Craig Gower, David Boyle, John Scandalis and Jimmy Smith.
Event organiser Craig Summers from SignPrintStitch told The Courier it was an enjoyable and successful day.
“It went really well I thought. It was very successful,” Summers said.
“We had good numbers and good support from sponsors and the town.
“Most of the players hung around for the auction after the golf as well.
“Our special guests did a really good job. They did everything they were asked to do and they mingled with everyone.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support. It wasn’t just me that put it together, there was a lot of people that worked in the background too.”
There were 22 teams that took part in the inaugural SignPrintStitch golf day.
The winning team included Brett Elford, Mark Bentley, Lee Watson and Josh Seymour, who finished with a score of 22-and-seven-eighths.
Placing second with 24-and-a-half were Karen Davis and Paul, Mick and Bernadette Ayton, and placing third with a score of 24-and-three-quarters were Will Childs, Adam Hatton, Luke Stoltenberg and Will Secombe on a countback from fourth-placed Hunter and Tiarne Harley, Dylan Duncan and Tracey Crutcher.
Fifth place went to Chris Fowler, Jason Alexander, Kane Voysey and Glen Goodhew with a score of 24-and-seven-eighths.
The long drive men’s winner was Kane Voysey, the long drive ladies’ winner was Maddi Baird, the nearest to pin second winner was Brendan McKechnie, and the nearest to pin sixth winner was Mark Humphries.
