Tennis: This term has seen students learning the skills of tennis. Thank you to Rod Kirk from Platform and Co for sharing his knowledge and providing students with the correct fundamentals of the game to enable greater skill and enjoyment into the future.
Students have thoroughly enjoyed their Tuesday mornings being put through drills and fun games all in the name of tennis. It is also very convenient to have your school sitting next to the Maules Creek tennis courts – just a walk across the driveway.
Boggabri Small Schools Speaking competition: Last term all Fairfax students competed in the Boggabri Small Schools Speaking Competition at Sacred Heart School, Boggabri. This is a much looked forward to event each year.
Our new students found writing and preparing a speech a new and challenging experience, but in true Fairfax fashion committed to the experience and did their best.
We are really proud of their persistence and resilience. They were inspired by their classmates to improve their performance next year.
Congratulations to Jack on coming third in the Year 2 prepared speech and a massive congratulations to Anna for winning her Year 3 prepared speech and Year 3/4 impromptu speech.
Bike Safety: As part of our mandatory road safety program, Fairfax students pulled the bikes out of the shed, gave them a thorough safety check and proceeded to learn and practise all the correct signals and behaviours associated with safe bike riding.
Students had a great time navigating the local area safely. Thank you to Mrs Harvey for her thorough instruction.
