Guests were treated to Christmas delights as the Narrabri Art & Craft Society held its festive morning tea on Friday.

Artwork was on display in the gallery and attendees were also able to have a conversation with WIRES volunteer Kath Hamilton.

Mrs Hamilton explained her initial start in WIRES as well as what her role involves. Mrs Hamilton specialises in caring for possums and macropods.

For the morning, she brought a special guest along for the festive gathering – a 200-day-old Bennett’s wallaby joey named Gus.

Stephanie and Murray Osborne, of Whanganui, New Zealand, were among the gathering to enjoy getting up close to the joey.

Following Mrs Hamilton’s conversation about WIRES, Mrs Osborne led a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace.
