To celebrate the Feast Days of Saints Anne and St Joachim (the Grandparents of Jesus), the Sacred Heart School community invited their grandparents and grandfriends to celebrate Grandparents’ Day 2025 on Friday starting with a Liturgy and followed by a picnic morning tea.
There is a unique bond between students and their grandparents, there is wisdom, guidance, and love. It is an opportunity to witness firsthand the environment where their grandchildren learn and grow while recognising the invaluable roles that older generations play in the lives of the young.
Guests were thrilled to receive a bouquet of produce from the school garden. School principal Claire Ryan said, “Our school garden has an abundance of produce and the fruit trees are almost ready to fruit. I thought it was a lovely idea when it was suggested by Joanne Tailby that we make up bouquets for the families”.
