ArtsNational Narrabri enjoyed an informative and fascinating evening filled with the account of UK author, tour guide, and textiles expert Chris Aslan’s life in Central Asia.
The event was held in the Narrabri RSL auditorium on Monday, July 28.
Chris regaled his audience with tales about what led to the instigation and setup of a traditional silk carpet workshop in Khiva, Uzbekistan, transforming the lives of those who worked for him for seven years, and bringing to life designs and embroideries revisited from 15th Century European manuscripts and the beautiful mosaic walls of Khiva.
