Narrabri’s Judy Nobilo recently won both the Open and Graphics Sections at the Arts Gunnedah 54th Annual Art and Ceramics Exhibition, an unprecedented double win.
Her oil painting ‘Dreaming’ and pastel drawing ‘Every Girls’ Dream’ stood out and were selected by the judge from over 60 other artworks.
Olwyn Campey, also from Narrabri, was awarded Highly Commended in the Open Section for her painting ‘Men at Work’.
Judy has been drawing pictures since she was a child and has developed her personal style of realism to an exceptional standard.
She has been awarded many art prizes including the Gwydir Art Prize, Frost Over Barraba and the WAACI Acquisitive Prize at Coonabarabran and generously shares her knowledge and donates her work to fundraising events such as the one to be held in Glen Innes in September for Friendly Faces, Helping Hands.
A founding member of the ‘Creative Friends’ art group she can be found most Thursdays at the Narrabri Art & Craft Society workroom making art with her likeminded friends.
Her work will be showing in ‘More Than Words’, an exhibition which will open on October 10 at the Narrabri Art & Craft Gallery.
