Former Narrabri junior Blue Boars Joey Fowler and Sid Harvey will play in their first senior grand finals for the NSW Waratahs this weekend following a crucial victory in the third and final round of the 2025 Super Rugby Aus competition on Saturday.

The duo and their Tahs teammates travelled to the nation’s capital to challenge the ACT Brumbies, who they defeated 42-34 to finish second on the ladder.

Western Force had already wrapped up top spot after going two from two across the first two rounds, but they were brought back down to earth in a 47-22 home defeat against the Queensland Reds on Sunday.

Despite the big loss, the Force finished a point ahead of the Tahs at the top of the table and they earned the right to host Sunday’s grand final.

The match will be played at the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex 1, and will kick off at 1pm local time (4pm AEST).

The Waratahs’ team for the decider was announced on Wednesday afternoon, and both Narrabri boys were named to start.

Harvey has retained the number 11 jersey and will line up on the left wing, while Fowler has retained the number 10 jersey and he will start the game at five-eighth.

Both players impressed on home soil during the Dangar Park Santos Festival of Rugby last month in a round two win over the Reds, and they were both excellent again on Saturday in the third round.

Harvey continued his sensational form with the boot as he slotted all six of his conversions to make it 12 from 13 off the tee in his past two matches.

He was also named in the team of the week for the second round in a row, and is now a favourite to be named on the left wing in the team of the tournament.
