Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2025/26 campaign will begin on Saturday, with the first round of the second grade T20 competition to get a highly-anticipated season up and running.

Four of the five teams in the division will line up at Cooma Oval as a grand final rematch between RSL and Tourist Hotel will take place alongside a battle between the defending one day champs, the  Sign Print Stitch Narrabri Colts, and the NDCA newcomers, the Boggabri Colts.

Tatts will have the bye on the opening day.

There will be no first grade matches played this weekend, given that the NDCA’s representative side will be in action in the War Veterans Cup T20 competition on home soil across the two days.

The first grade teams will play the first round of their T20 competition the following week on Friday, October 17, when RSL host Tourist Hotel at Collins Park while the Boggabri Colts and the Wilga Hotel Razorbacks go head-to-head at Hogan Oval.

The first round of the 40-over one day seasons will get underway for both grades the following day on Saturday, October 18.

The one day campaign will run through until mid-December before the 2025/26 season goes back into T20 mode until late January.

There will be nine rounds of first grade one dayers and seven rounds of second grade one dayers prior to that switch.

All teams will have then played one another once each in the T20 arena prior to the grand finals on Saturday, January 17.

The second grade grand final will kick off the day from 3pm and will be followed by the first grade decider from 6.30pm, with both of those games to be played between the teams that rank first and second on the ladder.

The season will then break for the Australia Day long weekend and will get back underway with one day games from Saturday, January 31.

The regular season will wrap up on Saturday, March 7, and it will be followed by a two-week finals series, with preliminary finals on March 14 and the grand final day on March 21.

Grand finals will be played at Collins Park for first grade and Hogan Oval for second grade, and there is a spare weekend on Saturday, March 28, in case the grand finals are washed out.

The two first grade competitions this season will both feature five teams as the defending champions, RSL, and Tourist Hotel, Boggabri Colts, Tatts and Wilga Hotel Razorbacks get set to battle it out for one day and T20 glory.

However, while there will be five teams in the second grade T20 competition, Boggabri Colts will not field a team in the one day competition this season, so only Narrabri Colts, RSL, Tourist Hotel and Tatts will play in the 40-over format.

The first grade one day competition will be played across 15 rounds, while the second grade one day campaign will be 12 rounds long.

That will see the first grade teams play against one another three times each and the second grade sides meet four times each.
