Four teams have now cemented their spots in Narrabri Touch’s 2025 campaign season two grand final night following Monday evening’s men’s semi-final contests at Cooma Oval.

Men’s A-grade defending champions Grumley Builders booked in their seventh straight grand final appearance and will now get to compete for a sixth title in that time after they prevailed 5-3 in the men’s A-grade major semi-final.

They took down Gee Bangers in that clash after Hamish Nolan bagged a double and teammates Nick Anderson, Jacob Booby and Tom Dinham all scored a try each.

Tries to Blake Hilderson, Hayden Bell and Nathan Nott kept Gee Bangers in the game, but the minor premiers were simply too good once again as they prevailed by two tries.

Gee Bangers will get another crack at earning a second consecutive grand final appearance when they meet Lations in the preliminary final at Cooma Oval this Monday, December 8.

Lations were eliminated from the competition last year by the Gee Bangers men and also went down to them last month in the first week of the finals series, but they are looking good following a 9-5 minor semi-final win on Monday against Up The Middle.

Chris Clark, Lachlan Trindall and Cooper Mason all bagged doubles in that four-point win while their teammates Clifford Toomey Junior, Jamarl Zarka and Rodney Standord-Lamb each chipped in with a try.

Up The Middle are now eliminated from the competition, but they are a young team who will be hungry to go bigger and better next year.

B-grade side Cougars also booked a spot in this season’s grand final night after they won big at Cooma Oval on Monday. They took down the division’s top-ranked side, the DTA Timber Lumberjacks, 9-4 after Rowan Keeler scored a hat-trick, both Jarrad Lawlor and Martin Taylor crossed twice, and Michael Knox and Isaiah Adams went over once each.

Matt McDonnell scored twice for DTA Timber Lumberjacks and his team’s other two tries were claimed by Jack Tate and Jake Brayshaw.

They will get another chance to play their way into the grand final when they meet Ballbusters this Monday evening.

Ballbusters got up 6-2 in the minor semi-final against the JWG Livewires, with Waldo and Eben Botha, Matt Hall and Liam Schwager all scoring one try each and their teammate Murray Scott bagging a double.

Jeremy Saunders and Seamus Hunt both went over for a try each in the Livewires’ last match of the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, there were no competition games for the women’s teams on Monday, with their finals series getting underway with preliminary finals in each division on December 8.

However, all six teams took the field to stay sharp for the matches that are ahead, with the three A-grade teams all winning big against a B-grade opponent.

Specialised Civil Services defeated the Golfie Gobblers 6-2, Many’s Contractors downed TJC Steelers 11-0, and the Hounddogs also prevailed 11-0 as they took down The FAFs.
