Boggabri Carols in the Park is a much-anticipated community celebration of song and festive cheer, and it returned this year with its signature warmth and vibrant community spirit.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship the evening kicked off with a delicious steak or sausage sandwich and a cold drink for all who attended.

The younger generation were catered for with craft activities, splash pad, and the fun play equipment in Vickery Park prior to the starting of the carols.

The evening featured a wonderful line-up of performances.

The St Barnabas Community Choir, accompanied by Liz Grosser on keyboard captivated the audience with their harmonious renditions of classic carols.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were the singing performances from the students from Nurruby, Boggabri Public School, Sacred Heart School as well as the nativity play and puppet show.

A quick hit of backyard cricket kept batters Lauren McMahon and Marty Beckett on their toes.

The festivities also included a guest spot of entertainment with Sam Snape and his biggest supporter, his little daughter Annie.

Annie stood proudly beside her dad singing and doing all the actions to the songs.

As dusk gave way to night, candles were distributed to everyone just before darkness fell.

The resulting candlelit display was nothing short of spectacular, with the park aglow in a sea of warm, flickering lights.

Boggabri Carols in the Park stands as a testament to the town’s community spirit and love of celebration.

Each year, this event brings families and friends together to sing, share a meal and create memories under the stars.

The evening would not be complete with the convoy of very tired children touring the wonderful display of Christmas lights in and around Boggabri.

Unfortunately, next year Boggabri will be missing the Stone family who have over the past eight years been front and centre in organising the evening.

Rev Nick Stone, along with his wife Caroline and their children will be transferring to Armidale.
