Boggabri Rotary Club recently donated $500 to the Boggabri Women’s Shed, continuing their tradition of supporting local community initiatives.

Rotary, known for being a small group that works quietly in the background, provides invaluable support to a range of community projects in the Boggabri district.

One of its key fundraising activities is the collection and recycling of car and truck batteries.

These batteries are considered hazardous waste and should be disposed of responsibly through proper recycling programs.

Boggabri Rotary Club encourages locals to donate used batteries, ensuring they are recycled safely while also supporting worthy causes in the community.

Boggabri Rotary Club treasurer, Robyn Skillen, said: “With only 10 members, we are very small; however, we are continuously looking to support the community and increase our membership.”

The club’s ongoing efforts highlight the significant impact that dedicated volunteers can have, even in smaller regional towns.

“We would like to thank Boggabri Rotary very much and we are truly grateful and very appreciative for their kind donation,” Lenise Walker, Women’s Shed president said.

“As we haven’t had a meeting yet, no final decision has been made but general consensus is that the money will be used for a ramp at the front door and grab rails in the bathrooms and if enough money a lift chair, to assist our physically impaired members.”
