In the last weeks of term four Narrabri High School, in collaboration with Winanga-Li and Narrabri Shire Council, proudly delivered one panel of a four-panel community mural series as part of the Community Crime Prevention Graffiti Project.
The aim of these artworks is to beautify the Hogan/Leitch Oval amenity block on Tibbereena Street, which is a popular area for foot traffic, being adjacent to the skate park and also tourists and people travelling through Narrabri.
Project lead Jo Hannaford (Narrabri Shire Council) attended a morning tea hosted by Narrabri High School, where the completed artwork was proudly presented to Narrabri Shire Council mayor Darrell Tiemens.
Through hands-on workshops, students explored creativity, culture and community pride, contributing to a vibrant artwork that promotes respect, inclusion and community safety.
This panel represents an important part of a larger vision to transform shared spaces through youth-led art.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this panel a success – we look forward to seeing the remaining murals come to life.
