Boggabri community members with young children were excited this week when Nurruby Boggabri Preschool opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Nurruby Preschool staff Jo Pauling and Corrina Thomson were delighted to welcome children and families as the new preschool service commenced in Boggabri.
The establishment of Nurruby Boggabri Preschool has been driven by the local community and operates in partnership with the NSW Department of Education.
The preschool is a community-based service, supporting children and families in the year before school.
Nurruby has been delivering high quality early childhood preschool programs across the Narrabri Shire for many years, and the Boggabri service will continue this strong focus on quality and inclusion.
All families within the community are welcome, regardless of which primary school their child will attend.
Nurruby Boggabri Preschool shares its space with Nurruby Boggabri Out of School Hours Care (BBOOSH), providing families with the option of wrap-around care.
This allows children attending preschool to transition smoothly into the BBOOSH service in the afternoons and offers additional support for working families.
This 20-place service has been designed specially to meet the needs of Boggabri families.
The staff said that they look forward to building strong connections with local schools and continuing to strengthen partnerships within the Boggabri community.
