Narrabri High School was alive with energy this week as more than 90 Year 7 students walked through the gates to begin the next chapter of their educational journey.
The new cohort was warmly welcomed by principal Mrs McInerney, year advisor Miss Mallett, staff and senior students, marking a successful and memorable start to high school life.
From navigating a new campus to meeting teachers and forming friendships, the students embraced the day with confidence and enthusiasm.
Principal Mrs Emily McInerney said the school was thrilled to welcome such a promising group of young people.
“They are such a wonderful group of students, and we are really looking forward to seeing what they will achieve in the coming years with all the new programs we have for our students,” Mrs McInerney said.
Year 7 advisor for 2026, Miss Mallett, praised the students for the way they approached their first day.
“What a fantastic first day for our Year 7 students at Narrabri High School! From the moment they arrived, they showed enthusiasm, resilience and a real willingness to give high school a go,” she said.
“Throughout the day they navigated a new environment, met their teachers, reconnected with old friends and made plenty of new ones.
“It was wonderful to see how quickly they settled into routines, supported one another and embraced the opportunities that came their way.”
Miss Mallett said she was incredibly proud of how the students represented the school community.
“As year advisor, I couldn’t be prouder of the way Year 7 conducted themselves and represented our school community.
“This first day was a huge success and a great indication of the positive year ahead,” she said.
“I am so excited to watch them grow and thrive at Narrabri High School.”
With strong support networks, engaging programs and a welcoming environment, Narrabri High School looks forward to a bright and successful year ahead for the Year 7 class of 2026.
