Newly-elected Narrabri Shire councillor Mark Strahle will be a great addition to council, said mayor Darrell Tiemens following last week’s declaration by the NSW Electoral Commission.

As reported in last week’s Courier, Mr Strahle was the successful candidate in a countback election conducted after former councillor Amanda Brown resigned due to health and family reasons in February.

“Mark has had a very diverse and successful career across agriculture, logistics and law enforcement and I look forward to seeing him apply this experience and knowledge in his role as councillor,” said Cr Tiemens.

Mr Strahle, who was thrilled to be elected, is ready to get to work and serve his community.

“I would like to acknowledge Amanda Brown’s service and her unfortunate resignation that has given me the opportunity to join a great team of councillors”, said Mr Strahle. “I am looking forward to making a meaningful contribution to council and the shire”.
