A man has been charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter in Narrabri on Thursday 27 August.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to Violet Street, responding to reports a man in his 30s had woken about 3am to find a man inside the home.

Police were told when the resident confronted the man, he allegedly threatened the resident with a machete before taking an e-bike.

Officers will also allege the resident was again threatened later in the day when the alleged intruder was seen on Violet Street.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 20-year-old man on Violet Street, Narrabri, about 5pm the same day.

During a search, an amount of cannabis was allegedly located in the man’s possession.

He was taken to Narrabri Police Station, where he was charged with three offences: aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – armed; stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal); and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court on Friday 28 August.
