Aerial rescue trial to strengthen emergency response in western NSW

SOME of the state’s key emergency service providers have partnered in a new aerial rescue trial to strengthen responses across western NSW. VRA Rescue, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW State Emergency Service and NSW Police Force have united for the six-month trial that will see specialist operators rapidly deployed by helicopter to serious road crash incidents in remote and regional communities. The trial will operate out of Dubbo Regional Airport, but will cover areas north to the Queensland border and west to Bourke. A NSW RFS Bell 412 helicopter will be used. NHS students gain fresh insights during Sydney study tour

NARRABRI High School’s year 12 English Advanced students recently travelled to Sydney to expand their perspectives on their HSC texts and deepen their understanding of the contexts that shape them. During the excursion, students attended a Richard III and Looking for Richard symposium, took part in a Jane Austen lecture, visited Vaucluse House, and toured the University of Sydney to explore future study opportunities. Narrabri NAIDOC celebration a success

NARRABRI’s NAIDOC community celebration was a success with up to 200 people attending festivities held at Collins Park on Friday. The event was a collaboration between Narrabri and District Community Aid Service (NDCAS), Narrabri Local Aboriginal Land Council, and Narrabri Shire Council. Funding support from the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) enabled the free community event to proceed. “Overall, it was a success. ‘Roadtrip’ exhibition rolls into Wee Waa, making a creative pit stop at the Yellow Door

THE Wandering Art Collective recently pulled into Wee Waa’s Yellow Door to unveil its latest exhibition called Roadtrip, which is on display until 22 August.
