PEOPLE whose work, leadership or community service deserves wider recognition could be nominated for the 2027 Australian of the Year Awards, with entries closing at the end of the month. NARRABRI Shire Council anticipates that a licence decision for a new bore at Saleyards Lane could be made by the end of this month. In a comprehensive PFAS water update at last week’s council meeting, the shire’s infrastructure director Warren Faulkner advised that there had been an issue with the bore’s water quality. “It may require some additional treatment before it actually gets the approval to go into our water supplies,” Mr Faulkner told the meeting. “We’re now approaching the New South Wales Health Department to find out what that may mean and look like.” Mr Faulkner also advised the […]
