Incredible photographic images of British explorer Ernest Shackleton’s expedition to the South Pole were in the spotlight at ArtsNational Narrabri’s August lecture. UK arts historian Mark Cottle presented the latest arts talk A Photographic Odyssey – Shackleton’s Endurance Expedition to a captivated audience at The Crossing Theatre. Roley’s talent for drama and script- writing takes centre stage

Wee Waa High School’s Roley O’Shea attended The Arts Unit State Drama Camp, designed for talented year 9 and 10 students. The drama camp is an intensive residential performance program run in Collaroy on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Throughout the week, Roley collaborated with like-minded students from across the state, learning from experienced teachers, theatre practitioners and industry professionals in a supportive and creative environment. Through a series of immersive workshops and performance activities, including group devising, Roley refined and extended his drama skills while exploring his passions for scriptwriting and acting. Good rain and a busy few weeks

DARRELL TIEMENS, MAYOR, NARRABRI SHIRE COUNCIL It has been great to see some rain across the shire. It has freshened up our parks and gardens, given the countryside a much-needed lift and brought welcome relief to many of our farmers and graziers. The timing also suits this year’s CREATE Festival, which has Water as its theme. Artists can take that in any direction they choose, and I am looking forward to seeing the results. Tommy Dixon named champion of the 2026 Wee Waa Baby Show

The Wee Waa Baby Show is always a crowd-pleasing success, and this year’s event was no exception, with plenty of cute smiles, delighted parents, smitten grandparents and enthusiastic friends cheering on the little entrants. While there could only be one Champion Baby at the Wee Waa Show, every little entrant made a big impression and proved to be a winner in the crowd’s eyes.
