READERS have enjoyed photography by Kieran Shephard in previous editions and this week Kieran’s shared a cracking photo of an echidna. Kieran is the farm manager at the University of Sydney’s ‘Llara’ farm near Narrabri, where he captured this striking head-on portrait of an echidna, a spiky surprise Kieran stumbled across on his way home last week.

THE efforts of retiring pathology team member Ian Schweitzer have been acknowledged in state parliament. As recently published, Ian retired from his role as collector at NSW Health Pathology’s Narrabri laboratory. He spent the last two years as a collector with NSW Health Pathology in Narrabri, but his career stretches back to 1967 when he began as the first full-time pathology staff member at Moree Hospital before moving to the laboratory at Narrabri in the 1990s with SydPath.
