Inner Wheel reflects on successful year, prepares to ‘Grow and Flourish’ next

NARRABRI Inner Wheel Club members and guests gathered at On Lee on Wednesday 8 July for the club’s annual changeover dinner, marking the end of another active year. Outgoing president Pat Norrie handed over the reins to incoming president Lynette Wright, receiving praise and thanks for her service throughout 2025–26. The tables were decorated with glorious homegrown red roses, a fitting choice considering the red rose is the official Inner Wheel emblem and a long-standing symbol of friendship, gratitude and love within the organisation. Plans underway to keep seniors close to home

PLANS to expand Karinga Village have taken another step forward, with two new self-contained units due to arrive in December as Wee Waa & District Aged Care Inc. seeks community support to help fund the project. “The goal of Wee Waa & District Aged Care Inc. is to provide safe and affordable housing within the local community,” committee member Pat Kiem said. Rotary celebrates year of giving back to community

THE Rotary Club of Narrabri has celebrated a year of giving back to the community at its annual changeover dinner, where outgoing president Chris Cole was recognised for his leadership and named Rotarian of the Year. The Rotary year started with a bang, with the club’s annual book sale again proving a fundraising success. The event raised $26,000, enabling the club to make significant contributions to local organisations and causes. Push for Vietnam War recognition continues

DYLAN SMITH THE campaign to see some 2,500 National Service Vietnam veterans recognised continues for Narrabri’s Richard Barry. Mr Barry, himself a Vietnam veteran, has led a continued push to see veterans’ service acknowledged through the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (RVCM).
