Narrabri Elevens secure home grand final

The Narrabri Elevens Football Club has secured a home grand final, beating Moree Services FC 4–1 on the weekend. Elevens’ Rowan Keeler found the back of the net three times and Jordan Hannaford also scored a goal for the Narrabri side. Goalkeeper Will McClymont was praised for saving two penalty kicks and was awarded players’ player for his great efforts. Local photographer Bruce Malcolm captured these brilliant action photos of a game that was thoroughly enjoyed by the Gately Field crowd. The team will now have a well-deserved weekend off before the grand finals.

Almost 100 nominated in 2026 Business Awards

Almost 100 businesses and community organisations have been nominated in the 2026 Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. This year’s nominees span a wide range of sectors and industries. They will be celebrated at the dinner being held on Saturday 10 October. Welcome barbecue this weekend for new Wee Waa nurses

The community is encouraged to attend a welcome barbecue for the new nurses at the Wee Waa Health Service this weekend. Starting at 11am, the Lions Club will cook its signature barbecue and CWA members will serve delicious scones, slices, tea, and coffee. The community event will be held on Saturday 19 September on the Wee Waa Hospital lawn. Recently, some new nurses have relocated to make Wee Waa their home. Fantastic crop art and a fabulous field day

The University of Sydney, Outlook Ag and Australian Grain Technologies joined forces to host a field day on 3 September at the IA Watson Grains Research Centre and ‘Llara’ farm. This year’s theme was Innovations at Scale, with a good turnout of growers, agronomists, researchers, scientists and agricultural professionals. The event kicked off with a presentation by Nigel Hart from the Grains Research and Development Corporation, followed by AGT varietal releases.
