Exciting period of growth, success for Junior Blue Boars

JUNIOR rugby union is undergoing an exciting period of growth and success. The Junior Blue Boars have been experiencing a great year of development and competition across several grades. Hard work by club officials in recent years is paying off, with about 100 kids playing in the youth competition across under-14s and under-18s girls and under-14s and under-16s boys.   A core group of volunteers is behind the success, particularly Denis Harvey, Bob Ford, Chris and Anna Booby, Daniel and Louise Tout, Ash Carolan, Daniel Gillmore and Ben Redfern. Roy Butler calls for fairer regional infrastructure investment

STATE Member for Barwon Roy Butler has called for fairer state government investment in regional infrastructure. In parliament, Mr Butler voiced concerns about a disparity in infrastructure spending between regional and metropolitan areas. Through a motion in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Butler highlighted that regional electorates make up nearly one-third of the state’s population yet receive far less than that share of infrastructure expenditure. “Nobody is saying that every dollar should be divided up evenly. Young at heart: St Joseph’s celebrates 100 days of learning in 100-year-old style

THE great tradition of St Joseph’s Primary School’s kindergarten class dressing up as 100-year-olds to celebrate 100 days of learning was carried on this year. Students and staff shuffled into school with walking sticks, grey hair, large spectacles and strings of gorgeous pearls. Shaking off a few ‘aches and pains’, they took part in a range of fun activities, proving that learning, laughter and a little imagination never grow old.

Blue Boars claim double grand final berth

NARRABRI Rugby Club returned from the major semi-final in Moree triumphant and claimed two grand final berths in emphatic fashion. The Blue Boars women’s 10s are now on the hunt for their fourth consecutive premiership while reserve grade will play in its first grand final in almost 10 years.
