Narrabri High School students Nick Tomlinson and Bella Stewart attended the North West Schools Sports Association awards held last Friday.

Both received awards to recognise their efforts and achievements from both this year and also right throughout their school sporting years.

Nick was honoured with the prestigious service award.

Nick, the son of Glen and Allison Tomlinson, was awarded this for representing North West every year since he was eight-years-old old.

When at Narrabri Public School he competed at PSSA carnivals and then at Narrabri High School he competed at NSW CHS carnivals.

He did so in swimming, athletics, cricket and rugby League.

Nick’s aunty, Kristina Penberthy received the award in 1994 so Nick was very proud to receive it too.

Bella, the daughter of Greg Stewart and Sonia Gordon, was awarded a bar to blue award.

Bar to blue awards are awarded to athletes who win back-to-back gold medals at state level.

This year’s bar to blue award was Bella’s fifth in six years.
