The Narrabri Jockey Club hosted its annual raceday on Saturday at the Narrabri Racecourse.
There were 45 starters at the six-race meeting.
The big winner on the day was eight-year-old bay gelding About Time.
For the second time in the past three Narrabri racedays the Gavin Groth-trained About Time claimed the Narrabri Cup.
Over a distance of 1200 metres About Time, which was ridden by Billy Cray, won by about a metre.
Just as he did at the 2017 raceday on Saturday, June 3, About Time jumped from barrier one on Saturday before racing to victory.
This year he saw off the second-placed Geoff O’Brien-trained, Vad Bolozhinskyi-ridden Grass Cutter and the third-placed Todd Payne-trained, Geoffrey Snowden-ridden Newcastle Dancer (see photo above for the race’s finish).
The 2018 Narrabri Cup winner Attalea was scratched on Saturday, so the Brett Thompson-trained gelding could not defend his crown.
One of the other big races on the day was race three.
That was the Tim Bell Memorial Cup Benchmark 58 Handicap race which was run over 1500 metres.
That was won by the Ray Hartley-trained Tennessee Man. Ridden by Reece Jones, Tennessee Man jumped from barrier two and raced away to a five-and-a-half-metre victory.
The Connie Greig-trained, Billy Cray-ridden Purest placed second and the Graeme Brooker-trained, Vad Bolozhinskyi-ridden Drawn To You ran home third.
