NSW Minister for Small Business Damien Tudehope pounded the pavement in Narrabri and Wee Waa on Wednesday to talk to business owners about the ripple effects of the drought.

“Like our farmers, our small businesses in the north west are doing it tough in the face of ongoing drought conditions,” said Mr Tudehope.

“Small businesses are the backbone of regional communities and we are committed to doing whatever we can to help ease the burden of the drought.”

Mr Tudehope was joined by NSW Small Business Commissioner Robyn Hobbs, Narrabri Shire Council mayor Cathy Redding and Chamber of Commerce president Russell Stewart as he walked the main street and visited shops to hear the concerns of business owners.

The ‘listening tour’ also visited Wee Waa where the delegation met with the Wee Waa Chamber of Commerce and community members to hear suggestions about what the government can do to help country towns survive these dry times.
