Eight Narrabri Netball Association sides travelled to Tamworth on Sunday to compete in the Tamworth Netball association All Age Carnival.

The Narrabri under-10s team the Sapphires, which are coached by Kasey Hilderson, continued their incredible 2019 form by winning the division seven competition undefeated.

The carnival was the sixth consecutive tournament that the under-10s have won undefeated.

Narrabri’s under-17s team competed in division two at the carnival and finished in first place.

The top three sides in that division finished the day with equal wins and losses but Narrabri placed first as it had a superior for-and-against compared to the other two sides.

Wee Waa was represented in division two with the side finishing in fourth place.

The carnival was the first time the side had played together in a competitive tournament and it was unfortunate not to place higher on the ladder.

Narrabri’s under-13s team competed in division three and was able to pick up an impressive first-placed finish after losing just one match on its way to victory.

Narrabri was represented by two sides in division five.

Narrabri’s under-12s and Flaming Babies both had a successful carnival.

The under-12s were only defeated by the eventual winners Inverell as the local team finished second.

The Narrabri under-11s competed in division six and won four of its seven games to secure a fourth-place finish.

The final team to represent Narrabri was the Narrabri Diamonds which played in division eight.

The side won two games on Sunday and finished fifth.

Narrabri Netball Association under-10s Sapphires coach Hilderson said his side was playing above and beyond a state-age side’s regular level.

“The side went through another tournament undefeated,” he said.

“I was comfortable enough to leave them for one quarter while I prepared for my own game and when I came back they were winning easily.

“After the win the side is much more determined to win the next tournament at Inverell.”
