Narrabri Tennis hosted its October school holidays tennis clinic at the Dangar Park Tennis Centre last week, with head coach Shane Murphy thrilled with the turnout.

Between 45 and 65 children attended each day of the clinic from Monday to Thursday which Murphy described as “fantastic”, especially considering the rising temperatures.

The clinic was designed to help young players improve in all aspects of the game.

On Monday the focus was on the forehand stroke and rallies.

On Tuesday the players brushed up on their day one skills with forehand revision and more rallies, and backhand stroke practice was introduced.

On Wednesday the youngsters were put through their paces with matchplay and serving practice, then on Thursday volley and net play was the focus.

The Courier was on court on Wednesday and captured some of the action.
