The Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club hosted its inaugural UNO night fundraiser event at the Narrabri RSL Club on Saturday, September 28, which was labelled a success by Stingrays fundraising coordinator Andrea Fernance.

“It was very successful for our first time running it,” Fernance told The Courier.

“The swimming club was represented quite well on the night and there was a good mix of the general public too.

“Because it was such a successful event we would like to hopefully run it again as an annual event.”

More than 80 people attended the event which saw two-person teams play for the title.

Matches were played using a best-out-of-three format where the first team to win two games was the winner of a match.

The junior tournament winners were Hunter McCauley and Beau Fitzgerald, and the runners-up were Lily Campbell and Jayde Goodhew.

The senior division winners were Sarah and Scott Smith, and runners-up were Penny and Darren Wallington.
