The Narrabri Golf Club hosted the Goesunder Cup this afternoon which was won by the Village People.

The Goesunder Cup is an annual event at the club where four teams – the Westies, Village People, Urbanites (town) and Mexicans (out-of-towners) – play for bragging rights.

It is a single stableford event where a team’s score is calculated based on the average scores of all respective team members.

The Westies took out the 2018 Goesunder Cup and were confident of their chances again this year, however, they finished runners-up to the Village People.

The Village People were victorious with a score of 34.7, the Westies scored 33, the Mexicans placed third with 31.6 and the Urbanites finished in last position with 30 points.

The Village zone covers the area of Narrabri between the Namoi Creek to the Namoi River, and this year’s Village People team included  Bruce and Peg Penberthy, Steve Parish, Karen and John Fenton and Skippy and Gail Richardson.

More to come.
