A marathon six and a half hour clearing sale at L and R Hall and Sons’ Wee Waa Road general engineering business on Saturday saw a ‘very satisfactory’ result, said vendor Len Hall.

“It was a big day. Agent Rob Gilbert was flat out all day and did a great job – there were more than 500 items to be sold.”

Mr Hall said vehicles and equipment at the sale had found new owners, from heavy plant to trucks and a cherry picker and everything in between.

“We were very happy with the sale result” he said.

The clearing sale saw the winding up of the business after 50 years ownership by Mr Hall. It was originally launched as S and L Hall with Len’s brother, the late

Sid Hall, and the company has operated as a family business run by Len and Ros Hall, Luke Hall and Tracey Rex.

Mr Hall, 76, said he felt it was time to retire.

“But I have enjoyed every minute of it,” he added.

“I thank my customers for their support over those 50 years.”
