The Narrabri Arts and Craft Society celebrated the festive season in classic fashion on Friday, November 29.

The members enjoyed a lovely morning tea and a celebration of a vintage-style Christmas.

Narrabri Arts and Craft Society’s secretary Kaylene McClenaghan spoke at the event, explaining the significance of vintage.

“Vintage Style usually refers to items that imitate the style of a previous era; particularly the twenties, fourties and fifties,” she said.

“They are the years of thrift, recycling, upcycling, repurposing and the valuing of quality.

“Today as the world seeks to save itself by living minimally, zero-waste or eco-friendly lifestyles, we naturally have a renewed interest in this age of thrift-driven creativity.

“We naturally seek to celebrate Christmas with some retrospective style.”

Ms McClenaghan closed proceedings by wishing all attendees a Merry Christmas and a fashionably joyous 2020.
