Debbie Gleeson, Larry Scott, Lorraine Scott and Kevin Baguley are the Narrabri Bowling Club’s Mixed Fours champions for 2019 after winning the grand final on Sunday.
The last event on the bowls calendar was played in warm conditions at the Narrabri Sporties.
Baguley’s team defeated Marie Redman, Lyn Wedesweiler, Graham Rose and Tony Redman in the decider after both teams were victorious in their respective semi-final matches on Saturday afternoon.
Despite losing the match, Redman’s team actually won the ends 11 to nine on Sunday, and was leading 10-7 on the 13th end.
However, Baguley’s team then scored 14 shots on the next three ends to take the lead 22-10.
It went on to win the game 23-12 after 20 ends.
The women’s bowls presentation will be held at the club this Wednesday, and the mens’s bowls presentation will be held at the club on Friday.
Barefoot bowls was played on Thursday, December 5.
Darrel Anderson and Joyce and David Briggs defeated Berice Eather, David Slacksmith and Kay Carolan 12-6.
Ian Schweitzer, Michelle Wilkinson and Wayne Grove were defeated by Karen Fenton, John Fenton and Fred Atherden 11-7.
Geoff Foreman, Bruce Tomlinson and Rob Wolters defeated Carol Demamiel, Peter Crawford and Pam Foreman 16-9.
