Narrabri and North West District ADFAS held its AGM and Christmas get together in December.

The organisation has had another successful year of lectures at the Crossing Theatre.

Chairman Jenny Falkiner thanked the members of the committee for hosting the visiting lecturers and for going out of their way to entertain the guests and show them what Narrabri has to offer.

Jenny also thanked members for their support throughout the year, and gave generously to the ADFAS Narrabri Young Arts Program.

This year $800 was presented to the Burren Junction Public School whose principal, Suzanne Galvin, plans to use the donation to run a musical program for the school this year.

The committee are sadly losing six members who are retiring – Judy Jones (treasurer), Carolyn Michell, Jenny Grellman, Prim Winston-Smith, Max Pringle and Myff O’Regan.

Jenny Falkiner thanked the outgoing committee members for the great contributions, the problems solved, the delicious suppers provided and the meetings hosted and the lecturers they have entertained.

Incoming new committee members are: Nanette Watson (newly elected treasurer), Joan Burrell-Melbourne, Barbara Francis, Fiona Groeneveld and Joan Longworth.

Continuing committee members are – Jenny Falkiner (chair), Anne Boehm (vice chair), Kay Durham (secretary), Elizabeth Campbell (program design and media), Annie Lampe, Barbara Glennie and Judy Pownall.

ADFAS lectures will resume in March.
