Something may have been lost in the translation, but the Chinese government has reportedly put a new nuance on ‘propaganda.’ A team of 300 ‘journalists’ has been sent to the coronavirus epicentre, the city of Wuhan, to strengthen ‘public opinion guidance.’ The alarm about the dangers of the virus was flagged months ago but the group of Chinese doctors who raised the alarm was arrested, fortunately to be released some time later. Maybe they were guilty of the wrong ‘public opinion guidance.’
