Four Narrabri District Cricket Association matches were scheduled to be contested on Saturday across the two grades.

In round nine of the first grade 45-over competition Civeo was scheduled to play against the Western Imperial Razorbacks at Collins Park, while Tatts and RSL were to meet at Leitch Oval.

In round 12 of the 40-over second grade competition Civeo and Crossroads were scheduled to go head-to-head at Hogan Oval, and the Razorbacks were to host Tatts in Wee Waa.

All four of those matches were washed out, with all eight teams receiving four points each.

The only team which those washouts really benefited was the RSL second XI which was scheduled to have the round 12 bye and picked up the seven bye points.

That moved it a further three points clear at the top of the table to 72 points, more than two wins clear of second and third-placed Civeo and Razorbacks (57 points each) with just three rounds remaining.

Tatts is still a win behind those two teams on 51 points, while Crossroads is out of the finals picture, last on 39 points.

In first grade however, RSL’s push for a finals spot was hampered by the washouts.

It is currently last, two wins behind the third-placed Razorbacks, which means it will almost certainly need to win its last three games to qualify for the finals while also needing other results to go its way.

Tatts and Civeo are still ranked first and second respectively, locked on 42 points each, a win ahead of the Razorbacks.
