Narrabri Public School principal Marion Tame wants to wish her students and their families a very happy Easter, even though this year the school holidays will be a little bit different.

“We’re calling it a ‘stay-cation’,” said Mrs Tame.

“Enjoy your stay-cations, stay safe and my message is we’re really looking forward to working with our families again next term.”

Mrs Tame said that like most schools around the country, Narrabri Public had some students still physically attending school and other students learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Schools remain open but if people choose to learn remotely then learning packages can be sent home.

“We’re supporting our families to deliver learning at home and the same learning packages are being used at school, so there is no difference between learning at home and school.

“Our focus remains the learning of our students and trying to keep the continuity of learning happening.”

Mrs Tame praised all her students for showing “remarkable resilience”.

“The kids in both the home and school setting have really undertaken the challenge of learning in different ways – technology and paper-based.

“The families have been really responsive, they’ve done an amazing job.”
