Former Boggabri greyhound racing trainer Andrew Bell is enjoying a career best year despite the sport being one of many affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In almost four months this year Bell, who relocated to Werombi at the end of 2017, has boasted his best win rate and place rate in a season when he has had more than 20 starts.

He is currently exceeding his career averages in both of those categories as May approaches.

With 43 winners in 354 starts in 2020, Bell’s win rate is 12 per cent. His career average is 10.5 per cent.

He and the Cedar Lodge Kennels team have also overseen 43 second-place finishes and 53 third-placed finishes making the top-three finish rate almost 40 per cent. Bell’s career top-three finish rate is 36.7 per cent.
