Taylor Street resident Jan Staines celebrated her 80th birthday in isolation on April 18, but plenty of wellwishers offered her congratulations.
Mrs Staines was in isolation at home because of the COVID-19 regulations and unable to have visitors. However, her many friends, keeping their social distance, passed on their best wishes over the fence or tooted their car horns as they drove past.
And of course, there was always the telephone for callers to say ‘happy birthday.’
